If you’re still on the fence about MicroReg, it’s time to dive into the heart of our "Quest to Zero”.
In this post, we tackle all your questions which we have collected over the past few weeks and provide the latest updates on our revolutionary technology. Find out how MicroReg is set to disrupt mechanical timekeeping and why it’s poised to be the next big thing in horology. Whether you’re excited or sceptical, we want to hear from you.
FAQs
Is it possible to have an idea of how accurate this system can be?
The accuracy is highly dependent on user adjustments, but the system can achieve near-zero seconds per day, with the MicroReg Actuator making sub-micron adjustments that surpass manual precision.
What colours will be available?
Currently, only Peacock Blue is available. While we may explore other colour options in the future, this is the only option for now.
Can the lugs be made flippable?
Flippable lugs are not feasible for this model due to the challenges in maintaining both aesthetics and functionality.
What about temperature sensitivity and degradation due to mechanical stress?
The MicroReg system is designed to handle temperature variations and mechanical stress effectively, with a closed-loop system ensuring robust performance.
Why not use wheels, gears, and an external screw or crown for adjustment?
This approach would compromise water resistance and accuracy. The MicroReg motor offers finer adjustments without needing additional case openings.
Will the motor need to be 'homed' or know when it's moved its maximum distance?
The motor includes mechanical end stops to prevent over-adjustment, making electronic sensors unnecessary.
How much torque can the motor output?
The motor generates a force equivalent to lifting 5 grams, with impressive power density for its size.
Will MicroReg improve the long-term sustainability and accuracy of certified chronometers?
Yes, MicroReg enhances chronometer certification by enabling final adjustments on closed cases, improving both efficiency and accuracy.
When does the pre-order end?
The pre-order ends at the end of September at 3,900 CHF. A second pre-order window will open in about 12 months at a higher price. You can pre-order MicroReg here.
When will delivery be ready?
Deliveries are expected to begin in late summer 2026, approximately 24 months from now.
Are you offering split payments?
No, split payments are not available due to the exceptional pre-order pricing.
How do you tell the time on the front of the watch?
Time is displayed at the 6 o'clock position in 5-minute increments, with the red marker indicating the current time.
Is the adjustment tool supplied with the watch?
Yes, the tool is supplied with the watch.
How much adjustment does the tool allow?
The tool allows for adjustments of ±10 seconds.
Will prototypes go on tour to different regions?
Yes, once prototypes are ready, they will be showcased in various regions.
Is this new IP or a refinement of existing IP?
The technology combines new ideas with existing solutions. The motor and regulation system are patented and unique to this project.
Will you support independent watchmakers for servicing?
Yes, Horage is open to working with independent watchmakers globally.

MicroReg: Where We Stand Now
As we push forward in our "Quest to Zero", the journey doesn't stop at innovation alone. It extends to perfecting every detail of this revolutionary technology. Markus has been working on optimizations of the geometry of components, together with the placement of the MicroReg technology within the K2 movement. The Engineering team has also been looking at industrialisation processes and the stability of the manufacturing of components.

Remember, MicroReg is a living project, with ongoing updates on the design and production progress. As the project evolves, there may be tweaks to the design and potentially even its function. Right now, we're working with animated renders, but as prototype parts begin to arrive, we’ll share those with you, along with any necessary adjustments to ensure we deliver the optimal final product.
Sharing the ebb and flow of this project is an integral part of the development journey. We’re excited to communicate all of this with you and look forward to your involvement.
Let us know in the comments which features or design elements you’re most excited about or if you still have any open questions.
Until next time...
