The Supersede Sleepy Bird Pre-Order is now underway! Leading up to this third order round there has been a lot of to finalize, fine tune and now the media is starting to jump in on the action.
New Images
Getting close to the finish line means we have moved from presenting prototypes and animations to finally have real images to show. On the Supersede site page and in the store you can now see all dial options finished with brushed or polished bracelet centre links as well as any of the 5 rubber strap colour options. Having seen all the watch dials in person the new images we have are the best representation of the dial colour in direct light. Depending on the light source and how bright it is obviously the dial colours will appear slightly lighter or darker, but for the most part I feel the representation we have online now is as close to perfect as we could get. Definitely check them out on the site or on our instagram page @horageswiss

Platinum Upgrade
Back in July we had some big news to share as we had finalized the rotor materials in use. It turns out we have more than just one with gold plated tungsten and an upgrade to PT950 platinum on offer.
Gold Plated Tungsten
PT950 Platinum - *Official marking will appear on production model*
Standard with all watches is gold plated tungsten. This option offers a classic look and tungsten being a very dense metal is a premium rotor material that excels at ensuring the rotor can swing sufficiently enough to rewind the mainspring. Our engineers also explored PT950 platinum and were impressed with the results. The material is more dense than tungsten thus slightly improving rewinding efficiency. We liked the fresh look of the metal as it provides a modern aesthetic which really resonates with the K2 bridge work.
The PT950 is a 390 CHF upgrade available at this price during the pre-order rounds. In 2023 the price will be 1,200 CHF. If you are ordering Supersede for the first time then you simply select platinum when configuring your watch.
For those of you who ordered in the November 2021 or April 2022 pre-order rounds please select the Supersede Platinum Rotor Upgrade option and include your original order/invoice number so that we can team the upgrade to your order.
Magic Orange
Back in July we presented some new ideas for the finish and design of the seconds and day/night indicator hands. It turned into what we like to call "The Great Hand Debate". The issue was the finish quality of the luminous on the small surface of these hands. We simply were not happy with this aesthetic and looked at either a none luminous solution or adding a lollipop design seconds hand with luminous. The conversations became heated both in and off the forum having our team look for any conceivable option. With a stroke of luck we believe we managed to find a potential solution that would enable us to keep the original aesthetic with a new luminous formula that we call Magic Orange.
Magic Orange hands arrive today at our production facility. Once they arrive we will build up a watch to see how they look. Join us on YouTube live this Thursday at 16:30 CET where Andi and myself plan to show this new variant to the community.
Horage In The Media
Supersede has not only captured the eye of the most diehard watch enthusiast like yourself, but also the media.
Horage has always had a challenging time with placement in media. I believe it has been a challenge due to our unique approach to movement and watch development. With countless Kickstarters or designer projects claiming "disruption" one has to do their homework and see if claims actually meet reality. It goes without saying that media has been skeptical of us in the past as what we are doing has been deemed seemingly impossible. A small independent group of engineers and watchmakers looking to deliver new movement and watch projects in Switzerland. Some naturally thought there must be a catch, but over time we have been able to speak, meet with and even have some out to see that we actually do what we say we do. Even in the business of time things take time and with the third major movement project coming to fruition it's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore what our team is capable of.
Here are some recent articles. Please keep in mind that media also write about a lot of other projects and one like Supersede is packed with details so they sometimes miss important points that you are likely more up to speed on.
Scottish Watches
Andi & myself tour the Scottish Watches guys around Switzerland and provide a rare glimpse into the industry.
Time & Tide
A first video and full review for us in Time & Tide. Zach digs into the details with this very comprehensive review.
Monochrome
Monochrome visits us quite frequently to get the latest scoop on things and are just in time with the latest update on things.
Hodinkee
Whether it be poolside duty, BBQ'ing or soakin' up the sun highlights Supersede as a summer watch to wear.
Worn & Wound
A nice article from Zach where he provides his take on things. An important point missed by Zach is that we currently do not plan to offer the movement to other brands. This was initially the case, however we are working with brands to help them make movements of their own such at the ENG300 with Bremont.
Europastar
The industry insider publication providing an updated and detailed overview on Supersedes progression.
Watchfinder
Although not a review of Supersede, Rikki at Scottish Watches shares his thoughts on Horage.
Fratello Watches
Hot of the press today is the review from Dave at Fratello Watches. Our first review with them and a pleasant surprise to see it go live today.
Pre-Order Details

Till next time...
Landon Stirling
Hi, I click on the rotor upgrade, but it takes me to order the autark T5?
Hi Landon. The minute hand shudders in the Time and Tide video when you advance the hour hand. Is that a byproduct of the movement or a preproduction quirk?
I just watch the Time and Tide vid. There is a noticeable gap between the case and bracelet. (@ 0:22) )Can this / will this be addressed?
Thanks!
Finally I made my order last night. Gray it is. I was also tempted by the blue ones, but considering I already have a lot of blue, I went a bit more tuned down. Polished links, a black rubber strap and of course the platinum rotor. Very exited about the result of the magic lume, but I could also live with a lollipop. Looking forward to the news to come.
