There has been a lot of anticipation leading up to this week's announcement of Supersede Date. We are pleased to revitalize summer with this refined and fresh take on both dial and function.
Check out the video above on the all-terrain Supersede Date.
Supersede is known as the thin, sporty, all-terrain sports watch packed with function. The focus for Supersede Date was to step outside the norm of the classic three-hand, date function.
Leaning on the GMT module of the K2 calibre our watchmakers honed in on the perfect function for travelling adventurers. The result was Supersede Date with a dial that is clean and allows for a quick time set function on arrival at a destination. Simply put the wearer can quickly jump the hour hand to the destination time without interrupting the running seconds and minute hands.
Complementing the Jump Hour Set function is the Big Date at three o'clock with Quick Date Adjust. Unscrew the crown and pull to the first position and you can quickly jump the hour hand forward by turning the crown clockwise or quickly adjust the date by turning the crown counter-clockwise.
The thin 3.6mm K2 micro-rotor movement comes standard with a gold-plated tungsten rotor.
The case and bezel of Supersede Date is made of 904L stainless steel case as with the beautifully crafted bracelet available in brushed or polished centre links. Horage's proprietary micro-adjustment buckle that allows for 10mm of adjustment in 1mm increments is a wonderfully comfortable finishing touch.

Two Dials To Choose From
With 200 metres of water resistance we looked to warm clear deep waters as the inspiration for the Supersede Date dial colours. The Cenote Blue dial is reminiscent of the sun rays filtering through the deep blue of surface-level caves called cenotes. Black Coral is inspired by the soft deep water corals of the Caribbean that when worked into jewellery become what is known as black coral.

Both dial indices and hands are finished with white Swiss Super LumiNova® that glows vibrant blue in subdued light. The timing bezel inverted triangle contrasts nicely with a deep rich green luminous.

Till next time...
Landon Stirling
Hi, congratulations on the announcement!
I like the Supersede Date 🙂 I like the two dials two - I am surprised I like the black one more also due to the black background of the date and also looks great wirh the black or the orange rubber straps.
In comparison to the GMT - the dial is cleaner being a simple 3-hand dial with date and a non-obtrusive bezel.
If comparing with other watches from other companies. Currently I am strongly considering Omega Aqua Terra 41mm green dial - I teally think it's a great watch. They are also relatively similar prices if I look at 5500 chf for the Supersede vs 5900 chf for the aqua terra. So what the Supersede Date and the aqua terra have in common:
great automatic movements with antimagnetic properties, approx same power reserve, chronometers, jumping hour hand and both can be seen
Relatively similar lug to lug and diameter
Over 100m water resistance with screw down crowns
How the Supersede Date is better:
3 millimeters thinner!
More sophisticated and beautiful movement
Bigger date
Quick hour hand change AND quick date change - you guys really do things on the next level!
Diver 120-click bezel!
Quick adjust clasp
200m vs 150m water resistance
904 steel
Fully brushed bracelet option
Preorder for 1000 chf less than omega's retail price
How is Omega better:
Maybe (a bit) better symmetrical dial, especially the green one!
Two berrels with uniform power distribution
20mm wide lugs whch allow for any strap
Female end links - advantage for smaller wrists
Maybe (a bit) more versatile design for a go-anywhere-do-anything (GADA) watch
Rhodium plated hands and indexes
for some might be an advantage that hour hand jumps in both directions but ther is no quick set date option
METAS certification
5 year warranty
6 to 8 years service interval (not sure what the service interval is for the K2 movement)
Looking at the bullet points I think the Supersede Date pulls ahead, especially when considering the advantage combo of a divers bezel + 3 mm thinner + quick adjust clasp! Keeping in mind that omega aqua terra is considered one of the greatest if not the greatest Swiss luxury GADA watch keeping in mind also the price to value ratio, it may turn out that you achieved something exceptional! Congratulations and best luck!
Note: I will still try to check it in person in your office plus I am always apprehensive with my 6.5 inch wrist...
Gorgous watch! 904, micro rotor, jump hour, 200m and 10.3mm - it packs in so many great features. I personally like a jump hour more than a GMT, as I'm more likely to use a phone when I need to double check another time zone. Well done guys
Looks great! Questions: (1) What is the thickness of the case, is it the same as the previous supersede? (2) there is no reserve indicator?
I love the dials, especially the blue one and the clean face with the diamond second hand. What is really impressive is the jumping hour; perfect to set the watch on holiday without stopping it and available without the additional dial hardware you need for a GMT. A nice innovation and congratulations on using creative thinking and design to utilise the modularity of the incredible K2 movement and deliver a step forward for three handers.
