After nearly 4 years of K2 micro-rotor development and 1.5 years of watch design we are incredibly excited to announce SUPERSEDE the All-Terrain Micro-Rotor GMT.
The requests for a micro-rotor GMT by our community were overwhelming so we took this direction to heart and have been quietly working behind the scenes. It's now time to involve you in the SUPERSEDE development journey. Over the next few months we need your input and invite you to vote on the various options you would like to see from SUPERSEDE.
Good things come to those that wait...
This journey will take approximately 14 months. The reason being is we need to ensure time is taken to address your desired options as well as to be able to deliver the latest in silicon hairspring technology.
We shattered the Swiss tourbillon price barrier and we are doing the same with the Swiss micro-rotor. A jaw dropping 4,500 CHF start price is on offer for those taking part in the first pre-order round starting November 2021. All price tiers for SUPERSEDE include VAT, duty and shipping. (Luxury tax not included).

I think you are wrong on this decision Tzuyu. If the watch is to have a date window, then customers are universally asking for them to match the dial. It would be an interesting question to add to your surveys e.g. brushed or polished links, dial colour, etc.
On darker faces you can print the date in white. It would be a nice touch!
Can the date background color match the color of the face.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the functionality, but if the intent is to rely on the mini 24h dial to check home time, there's hardly a need for the skeletonized 12h home hand since it doesn't give us the full picture. It's not super visible anyway.
If the intent is that one checks the home hand first, then checks the 24h hand for AM/PM, the latter could be replaced with a binary indicator (e.g. matching dial color for AM, orange for PM). I'd love to see this one day, particularly if the indicator were to sit below the HORAGE logo or simply replace the power reserve indicator.
I do understand the angle that this watch serves as a vehicle to showcase the K2's features - but what's best for the wearer?
Quick question. Would it be possible for the GMT hand be the same material as the small 24 hour hand at 9 o' clock? That way it would be orange and stand out from the regular hour hand. Also the lume could be blue or white to differentiate from the green lume? Not sure what the manufacturing issues are around that process or even if it's possible. Just brain storming. Thoughts?
Stellar product! I am definitely an early adopter. I would love to see a micro-adjust rendition ala Rolex's "GlideLock" or Tudors "T-Fit". Even brands like Formex are producing excellent micro-adjust technology in their bracelets. Another question - will buyers outside EU be able to have VAT refunded? Thank you so much for showing interest in your customer's feedback and for considering our thoughts. This is another unprecedented triumph! Unfortunately, customer service and the client-centered approach is a lost art these days. One final question - Do you offer tours of your place in Biel/Bienne? We have family in Sigriswil/Interlaken. I would love to visit your facilities when we are there next summer (if travel is good). Here's to a successful November order date!
I track another time zone much more frequently than traveling to another time zone. Zoom meetings, for example. Therefore, I would much prefer to see the following arrangement (very tall order, I know):
I hope this is viewed as a worthwhile consideration for your K2 variant.
I love everything you're doing. Great job. - I love the hidden GMT hand when not in use.
- For me the clasp is one of the most important things for a good fit and ease of use every day.
- The white dial is perfect but I think the silver hands will get lost in the whiteness and the watch won't be readable at a glance. I think that the hands and hour markers on a white dial variant need to be black or some other colour so that they stand out and you can read the time in any lighting condition.
Any chance we can get a look at the clasp or has it not been designed yet? Thanks Team Horage 👍
I apologize if this has been asked/answered before, but can the local hour hand be set backwards as well, and is the date slaved to the local hour hand or the home hour hand?
Agree that 200m is more of a dive watch requirement vs an all terrain watch where the movement design and case/function versatility of the Supersede appear to be most relevant. Increasingly have also seen ratings like 150m for the Omega AT and the Christopher Ward Super Compressor, and Czapek's Antarctique has 120m which is plenty as it is definitely not meant to be a dive watch! :)
@Simon Pike we are pretty sure that the limiting factor for the 200m will be the case back, as there we have not much room for beefing up the glass thickness or make it curved to counter the pressure being induced. This is a problem with flat glass case backs that they in fact contract in the outer diameter when pressure is applied. FEM needs to be done more and then testing testing testing. I am pretty sure with a closed back this rating can be achieved, but this takes away with the beauty of the movement. So there is work to do and figure out things on the go. In general depth rating does not say too much about a watches water proofness capabilities in this universal "All-terrain-environment" where we think it needs to work best. If it would be a pure dive watch this rating is more important. If it is a watch for the active people the dynamics of how water hits a watch is a very important factor to look at. Diving is a more steady and constant pressure rise. Windsurfing or sweat and temperature intensive activities like snowboarding pose very different challenges to water proofness and the mechancial design in the interface sections like seals.
My thoughts:
- I love the way the GMT hand remains hidden when not in use.
- Colour match the date wheel to the dial (I hate white date wheels on coloured/black dials)
- include a micro-adjustment in the bracelet clasp
- why is the 12/24 upside down in the sub dial? Surely 1200 is midday and at the top (white/daylight) and midnight 24:00 is at the bottom (black/darkness)
- is it hard to cap the hands, rather than leaving the collets exposed? I like that detail on some GS models.
- when will you confirm the water resistance rating? 200m and under 10mm would be a very tempting proposition.
Hello Horage Team,
Gorgeous new watch!! Fantastic new movement as well!!! Very well done!! I will definitely be pre-ordering one of these beauties.
My one small constructive criticism is that the GMT hand and the hour hand are very similar looking. Almost TOO similar. This would make telling the time at a quick glance somewhat difficult. If you guys could find a way to better distinguish the GMT vs the hour hand, I think this would be welcome. Again, fantastic looking watch with great dimensions, but just would love it to be functional as well.
Take care and keep up the good work,
Marz
OMG this is awesome! I’ve been lamenting the lack of alternative to the Aquanaut (true GMT, 12hr hand that can be hidden, waterproof) and this is the answer for everyday life!
There are design elements that I don’t like (bezel and dial are more brutalist than refined), but otherwise looks like a home run.
Very nice, how about a higher end one where a tourbillion is visible on the back?
Can’t wait!
Any reason on why you guys use GMT hand with similar shape to hour hand?
IMO, it might be hard to read?
Looking forward to this project!!
This is going to be a great project. Looking forward to a lot of supporters and lots of new tech to be discovered.
This looks amazing! Can't wait to learn more!
